Brintziki Estate is a family winery, situated just a few kilometers away from Ancient Olympia. Dionysios and Dionysia Brintziki, professional musicians as far as their basic occupation is concerned, started up the foundation of the winery based on the utilization of the already existing vineyard of Brintziki family, in 1994. Since the very beginning the vineyard has been being organically cultivated and the varieties planted as well as replanted are local Greek. Our constant aim is the production of unique wines, mostly of one variety, in order for the special characteristics of each one of them to be distinct.
In 2010, Brintziki Estate was certified as the first green winery in Greece. The exploitation of the geothermic energy which satisfies the needs for the freezing and the heating of the tanks as well as of all the spaces of the winery is of great significance. The unit of photovoltaic systems on the roof of the winery covers its electricity needs and establishes its ecological and absolutely environment- friendly operation, offering us the ability to claim that we produce organic wines which tend to have zero ecological footprint.
Greek autochthonous varieties are being grown on the winery's own vineyards, on a surface of 120.000 m2 , with fervor and strict adherence to the principles of organic farming.The autochthonous varieties are Roditis, Tinaktorogos, Malagouzia, Fileri, Asyrtiko (white varieties) as well as Avgoustiatis and Agiorgitiko. (Red varieties). Furthermore, cosmopolitan varieties such as Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet are being grown here, resulting in wines with intense terroir characteristics. The winery purchases exquisite grapes from other renowned wine farmers of the region as well.
