P.G.I - Protected Geographical Indication Heraklion
Grape Variety: Mandilari
Region: Kounavi, Langada vineyards, Heraklion Crete.
Terroir: Altitude of approximately 450 meters, argillo-calcareous soil, vineyards with bush-like pruning, yields of 58hl/ha. Vines aged 15-20 years, which give wines with firm tannins, good structure, balanced character and long finish. The mountains that lie in the south and the cool summer winds create the perfect conditions for the smooth ripening of the grapes.
Oenology: Maceration at controlled temperature of 14°C for 24 hours, in order for the primary aromas to be extracted. Further extraction for eight days and alcoholic fermentation for twelve days start right after, while the temperature gradually increases from 17°C to 23°C. Maturation in stainless steel tanks for at least 3 months.

Deep purple colour with violet nuances. Its aroma is dominated by dark red fruits, mostly plum
and lackberries, with a spicy background. Well-structured in the mouth, with firm tannins and
a persisting long finish.
Combine it with grilled meats, sausages and game with heavy red sauces.
