P.G.I - Protected Geographical Indication Ilia
Grape Variety: Bio Assyrtiko 50% Roditis 50%
Region: Ilia
Terroir: KTIMA BRINTZIKI
Named after the river flowing around the winery and its namesake god, a river god from the ancient Greek Mythology.
Dionysios Brintziki grew up on the estate where the vines have grown since 1932. He and his wife Dionysia, both professional musicians, took over the family winemaking business in 1994. They have stayed true to their winemaking goal of showcasing indigenous grape varieties of the Western Peloponnese. They are guided by celebrated Oenology professor Dr. George Kotserides who holds a PhD in Oenology from the University of Bordeaux and has worked at the famed Chateau Magdelaine, Chateau Petrus and Chateau Calon-Segur.
Oenology: Classical white vinification in low, controlled fermentation temperatures, with selected yeasts. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Short pre-fermentation maceration, short ripening on fine lees.
